7-25-24 Release Notes

New Features and Enhancements

  • NEW - Rebuilt Global Search

    • Global Search Capabilities: A new search function lets you look up nearly any item across the software, streamlining your ability to find information quickly.

    • Search Filters: Introduced a chip-based filtering system to narrow down global search results, making it easier to locate specific items.

    • View Inactive Objects: An inactive toggle option allows you to view objects that are not currently active in the system, giving you more comprehensive search results.

    • Fuzzy Search: Improved search functionality that accommodates misspellings and finds similar items, enhancing search accuracy and user experience.

    • Highlight: Enhances the search experience by bolding specific search terms in the results. For example, if you search for "123," the term "123" will be bolded at the start of addresses, making it easier to identify why these relevant results were selected.

    • X-Ray: Expands search capabilities beyond main items, allowing you to search for non-primary elements such as property codes, license plate numbers, and emergency contacts. 

    • These enhancements are designed to make navigating and managing information more efficient and user-friendly.


  • NEW  - Enhanced Resident Portal Experience 

    • Mobile-Friendly Design: The tenant portal is now fully optimized for mobile devices, allowing tenants to manage their account on-the-go with ease.

    • Updated Interface: All pages have been refreshed with a new look and feel, ensuring a more streamlined and visually appealing experience.

    • Simplified Payment Workflow: Paying your rent is now easier than ever with an improved payment process and the ability to set up recurring payments with just a few clicks.

    • Cleaner Summary Page: View all information in one convenient location with a revamped summary page that organizes tenants details for quick access.

    • Improved Service Request Screen: Submitting and tracking service requests has never been simpler with a more user-friendly service request screen.


  • NEW - Property Assignee

    • We have introduced the Property Assignee feature, allowing you to designate users from your Rentvine account as managers for specific properties. This new feature replaces the Property Manager field.

    • Customized Notifications: Property assignees will receive targeted notifications related to their assigned properties, ensuring they stay informed and responsive to relevant updates.

    • Future Enhancements: This feature sets the stage for even more exciting improvements and capabilities to enhance your property management experience.

General

  • Export Documentation Added: Updated API documentation for leases, properties, units, and applications.

  • Enhanced User Role Permissions for Contacts

    • Included additional permission types to provide better granularity within contacts.

      • Owner: Update all details, including name, email, phone number, etc.

      • Tenant: Update all details, including name, email, phone number, etc.

      • Vendor: Update all details, including name, email, phone number, etc.

      • Manage Tax Info

      • Manage Payment Info

  • Mass Unshare Files: Added the ability to mass unshare files with owners or tenants, similar to the existing mass share option.

  • Tags: Users can add as many tags as desired to any object in the system, such as portfolios, properties, units, leases, work orders, owners, tenants, and vendors.

  • File Management Improvements: Enhancements to dragging and dropping files within all file tabs in Rentvine.

Owner Statements

  • Statement Batch Filters: Added the ability to filter by the "Portfolio Assignee" and "Property Assignee" when generating statement batches. This enhancement allows for more specific and organized batch statement generation based on assignees.

Screening and Applications

  • Automatic Assignment: Introduced the option to automatically assign new or submitted applications to the designated property assignee. This setting can be configured in the screening settings.

  • Application Template Preview: Added a banner when previewing an application template to inform users that applications cannot be submitted from the preview page.

Leases

  • Future Dated Charges: Added a "Future Dated Charges" section to the Record Tenant Receipt screen. This feature will automatically allocate receipts to charges that are due or to prepayments unless the receipt is specifically allocated to future dated charges.

Rentsign

  • Hotfields Enhancement: Added "Property Name" as a usable hotfield in Rentsign documents. 

Accounting

  • New Column for Payment Details: Added a “payment type” column in the payments section of the bill detail view page. This column displays the payment type, such as "Other," "Check," "NACHA," or "eCheck," providing clearer information about the payment method used.

  • Terminology Update for Money In Payments: The term "Payments" has been renamed to "Receipts" throughout the system. This change applies to tenant receipts, owner receipts, and other receipts.

  • Remote Checks: Added a "Sent" tag next to remote checks that have already been sent, visible when selecting the send remote checks option from a payment batch.

  • Automatic Invoice Association: Introduced a feature where an associated invoice is automatically added to the bill details section when uploaded by the vendor or during the invoice upload process.

  • Journal Entry Totals: Added totals for debits and credits at the bottom of the page when adding a journal entry, making it easier to track financial entries.

  • Bill Date & Due Date Edit: Added the ability to change the "Bill Date" and "Due Date" of a bill even after the bill has been paid.

Contacts

  • Tax Adjustments Timeline: All tax adjustments added or edited at the vendor or owner contact level will now be displayed in the contact's timeline. This provides a clear history of any changes made to tax adjustment information, ensuring better record-keeping and transparency.

Communications

  • New Notification Types: Introduced two new notification types in personal notification settings:

    • Property Assigned to User: Notify users when a property is assigned to them.

    • Application Assigned to User: Notify users when an application is assigned to them.

  • Sales Tax Amount: Added the sales tax amount to the upcoming recurring charges notification sent to tenants. This provides clearer information about the total amount due.

Maintenance

  • Automatic Assignment: Introduced the option to automatically assign work orders submitted by tenants to the designated lease assignee. This setting can be found in the work order settings

  • Projects Enhancements:

    • Completion Percentage: Added a completion percentage within a project, showing the percentage of work orders that are completed within the project.

    • Filter by Property Groups: Added a filter within the project tab to filter by "Property Groups," allowing for more organized project management.

  • Added “Property Assignee” filter and column option to the following widgets:

  • Added “Lease Assignee” filter option to the following widgets:
